Bruins show up to NHL Outdoors in Lake Tahoe giving off 90s vibes

The Boston Bruins did not take a bus, practice or aircraft to Lake Tahoe. They took a time machine.

The Bruins rolled up to the 2021 Honda NHL Outdoors Sunday towards the Philadelphia Flyers at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in some wild 1990s-era gown, and it appeared as phenomenal because it sounds.

Bright neon nylon observe fits, fanny packs, wild multi-colored caps and even a pair of jerseys from “The Mighty Ducks” motion pictures had been on the scene.

The Bruins have had some theme days like this before, however this one gave off a really loud, glow-in-the-dark vibe.

Forward David Pastrnak stated it was the thought of captain Patrice Bergeron.

“Bergy, he is at all times one step forward with this sort of stuff,” Pastrnak stated. “It was his thought. And all of us beloved it, so we jumped on board instantly. We had some enjoyable ordering the stuff, and strolling to the sport. It was very enjoyable.”

Forward Trent Frederic, who simply turned 23 years outdated on Feb. 11, wore a shirt from the Los Angeles ska punk band Sublime, who hit it large with their 1996 hit “What I Got,” not that he was conscious.

“To be trustworthy I simply obtained it a few days in the past, I believe it is 90s, I do not actually know,” Frederic stated.

The workforce had some enjoyable with the theme their official Twitter account, going full 90s.

One reference was to the 1994 comedy basic “Dumb & Dumber.” It was no shock that the road they quoted was spoken in the film by Bruins nice Cam Neely, who made a memorable cameo as Sea Bass.

Also, they snuck some “Saved by the Bell” in there as nicely.

“We’re simply making an attempt to have enjoyable, I can not say this will probably be a staple of my wardrobe,” stated defenseman John Moore. “We turned to one another once we had been strolling in and stated we higher win, as a result of we have now to put on (the identical outfits) popping out.”

“I beloved it,” stated Bruins coach ruce Cassidy. “It seems to be like they dug by means of my outdated wardrobe.”
